The Yaśodharā Sangha is a supportive and encouraging community for parents and their children. We are a network of caregivers committed to raising our children with loving-kindness, compassion, and joy; taking refuge together in the Three Jewels, so that our children might suffer less. Our Tuesday evening meeting will include dharma readings and dharma discussion on topics that will lend to more peace in our lives, and a stronger connection with our children. This will be followed by 30 minutes of meditation. Childcare support and a child-friendly Dharma activity will be provided; however, there should be an expectation and appreciation of the noise, energy, and fluctuating moods that accompany children, and the wish for our community to be flexible and understanding. In keeping with Buddhist tradition, the Yaśodharā Sangha is supported entirely by Dāna (free will contributions, given generously from the heart). This includes covering the costs of the children's activities, and acknowledging the value that this support is able to bring to our practice and our lives. |
